AVG (Free)
AVG is a very good free anti-virus progam that has really made a name for itself. If you get the paid versions you also get a firewall, spyware and few other features. This is the virus program I personally use.

If you have already tried scanning for virus’s and spyware and still can not get that pesky virus remoted I would try Malwarebytes. Malwarebytes is a site dedicated to fighting malware. Malwarebytes has developed a variety of tools that can identify and remove malicious software from your computer. When your computer becomes infected, Malwarebytes can provide the needed assistance to remove the infection and restore the machine back to optimum performance.

NTBackup
NTBackup is the built-in backup utility of Microsoft Windows. NTBackup from Windows XP and later includes Volume Shadow Copy (VSS) support and thus can back up locked files. In case of Windows XP Home Edition, NTBackup is not installed by default but is available on the Windows XP installation disc.
